Overnight Cleaner

Position Summary:

Perform cleaning duties as outlined by the Overnight Team Leader to ensure general up keep of the building in the areas of maintenance and cleaning.  Understand the importance of and promote the Company’s Mission, Vision & Values, and provide direction to staff in accordance with the Company’s policy and procedures in order to achieve organizational goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Maintain company established standards for carpet cleaning, dusting, washroom cleaning, steam rooms and mopping, ensuring proper use of cleaning products.

·         Familiarize yourself and gain general knowledge of the building and its areas.

·         Ensure all areas of the building are kept clean in a timely manner; this includes change rooms, showers, steam rooms, lunch rooms and washrooms.

·         Before departing at the end of shift, inspect each floor to ensure all outside doors are secure and lights are turned off.

·         Sweep, mop, wash, wax and polish floors

·         Dust furniture and vacuum carpeting and area rugs, draperies and upholstered furniture

·         Clean, disinfect and polish kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances

·         Clean and disinfect public areas such as changing rooms, showers and elevators

·         Wash windows, walls and ceilings.

·         Lock up the building and arm the security system at the end of some shifts.

·         A keen eye with attention to detail and special care is imperative while cleaning in the Spa areas.

·         Collect debris and any other unnecessary items and return them to their allocated place.  Ensure all garbage is removed from every floors of the building and placed in the garbage area on a nightly basis.

House Keeping Attendants

Position Summary:
Responsible for providing for the comfort of guests and staff by ensuring that all treatment areas including public areas and back of house are clean and properly presented including the washrooms.  Promotes a positive image of the property to guests, and must be pleasant, friendly and able to address problems or special requests.

Understand the importance of and promote the Company’s Mission, Vision & Values, concurrently completing tasks as assigned and according to Company’s policy and procedures in order to achieve organizational goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain company established standards for carpet cleaning, dusting, washroom cleaning, mopping, ensuring proper use of cleaning products
  • Familiarize yourself and gain general knowledge of the building and it’s areas
  • Ensure all areas of the building are kept clean; this includes change rooms, showers, steam rooms, treatment rooms, lobby areas and lunchrooms.
  • Daily walks around each floor to ensure the Spa areas are neat and clean
  • Ensure there are enough guest supplies in the Spa to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
  • Maintain and upkeep of the washroom on a daily basis and maintaining a professional image at all times within the public and staff areas of the Spa.
  • Ensuring all garbage/ recycling is removed from all areas of the Spa.
  • Ensure all Spa robes, towels, and any other Housekeeping related items are collected, in a timely basis and ensure the re-distribution of laundry.
  • Wash, fold, and operating washers and dryers
  • Ensure all refreshment areas are properly maintained and replenished throughout the day on all floors that have amenity stations.
  • Ensure all cups, plates, and any other Food Service items are collected and cleaned on a regular basis ensuring clients do not see dirty dishware or cutlery within the Spa.
  • Ensuring all FF&E’s (Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment), are in proper working order and if not, to ensure that the maintenance department is informed via a work order.
  • Offer assistance to clients who are having trouble or appear lost or require assistance with opening their lockers.
  • Ensuring all garbage/ recycling is removed from all areas of the Spa.
  • Return all valuables found to the Head Housekeeper, Supervisor and/or Duty Manager.
  • Attend all department meetings as instructed by the Head Housekeeper.
  • Provide motivation and support to all other staff members of all businesses and at all levels whenever the opportunity presents itself and is appropriate.
  • Assist with other duties as reasonably assigned from time to time.

Skills/Qualifications/Education:

  • Must have general knowledge of industrial washers and dryers
  • Previous housecleaning/laundry experience is a definite asset
  • Preferably six months’ experience in a similar field.
